Science plays an integral part in our everyday lives, from the food we eat to cars we drive and computers and phones we use, Science has played an important role in their development. We take for granted many of benefits science has provided in today’s society. The Science Learning area we strive to cater for a diverse group of students providing various courses which help students to develop the knowledge, skills and process which will assist them in achieving their future aspirations.
Investigating plants, rocks, animals, chemicals, motion, forces, forensic science, stars and planets are all part of the Lower school curriculum. Students are taught how to safely use a variety of scientific instruments and materials and they then put these skills to use in more challenging and interesting practical activities.
We provide courses in year 10 which lead to the following options in year 11 and 12, Physics, Chemistry, Human Biology and Biology. In the past few years we have produced students who have excelled in our courses, achieved excellent scores in State-wide examinations and have gone on to win scholarships on their way to University.
